And thanks to DVD DICON, video data can be converted to the DVDs video format in real time. A hardware supported MPEG-2 compression makes this possible, resulting in a conversion time that is up to 20 times faster than on PCs.

Casablanca Avio DVD, Prestige and Kron allow you to create your own DVDs. This option uses the DVD-R format - hence, playback of these DVDs can be achieved on commercial DVD players.

The package contains a DVD drive (DVD-R/RW writer) to be fitted into Casablanca Avio DVD Base Model's / Kron's drive bay by your dealer and a software to manage the projects, create menus and control the hardware.

To create your own DVDs, you only require the hard- and software described above. Additional components (computer or similar) are not required.

If you buy the software only and use it in your Casablanca Avio DVD Base Model / Kron with a DVD-burner not purchased from MacroSystem, we are not able to give you any warranty or technical support on it.

Please note: different DVD-writers will be installed in Avio DVD and Kron

1.2f/1.3f [15.08.2003]	The update is only of interest to Avio and Kron owners who want to burn MPEG2 projects onto DVD. The use of black scenes or freeze-frames could in some situations cause the picture and sound to go out of synch when the DVD was being played. The problem is resolved with this update. This problem never arose in projects created in Direct DV or ones created on the Casablanca Prestige - so an update is unnecessary in these cases.
1.2e/1.3e [16.06.2003]	These software versions are only adapted to Casablanca Avio DVD use - there are no further changes.
1.2d/1.3d [16.12.2002]	When deleting a DVD-RW, a progress bar displays the remaining time. Exiting DVD-Arabesk after burning a DVD (before the "busy" diode goes off) is now no longer possible. Chapter starts and the used reference picture are now correct when using the time range feature. Additionally, smaller problems have been solved. 1.2d is suitable for the "classic" user interface, 1.3d is part of SMART EDIT.
1.2c [30.04.2002]	A DVD-RW can now also be deleted when the title list is empty. Some corrections of the user-interface (click-able and locked buttons) have been made. In some cases, the conversion of MPEG projects with varying and high data rates in version 1.2 caused jerky playback of the DVD. This has been fixed. The conversion of DV projects was not affected by this.
1.2a [02.04.2002]	Installation routine has been fixed (software could not be installed as an "update", if v1.1a was installed before).
1.2 [22.03.2002]	Conversion of video in Direct-DV projects is done near-to in real time, ie. about 5-6 times faster than in older versions. Added titles now display the running time as well. It is now possible to edit the name of a title after it has been added to the title list. The sound modes are now called "Compressed" und "Uncompressed". The previous sound settings resulted in very minor hearable differences on the DVD - this made the quality button useless. The writing speed of the DVD has been fixed internally and depends on the chosen picture quality. Features some smaller improvements and fixes some software problems. DVD-Arabesk 1.2 requires at least System Software V1.8. It is possible to install the DVD software on a Kron without a DVD writer as a demo.
