Casablanca Avio can be upgraded at wish with a DV in and output. This enables reading data directly from a digital camera or recorder (DV, Digital8, DVCam). The Avio model may convert this data into MPEG-2 (fully digital) or keep it as it is in the direct DV mode and saves it to hard-disk. After editing, the project can be output back onto a cassette.

This results in an excellent picture quality as the pictures no longer have to be converted analog/digitally or vice versa if the i-Link interface is used.

This option has already been available with the old Casablanca I model, proving to be very popular. Wellknown broadcasting studios have already used the DV option to broadcast Casablanca projects because the quality certainly matches the highest quality ambitions.

The DV-option includes a memory-expansion to 64 MB.
