This update (subject to a charge) provides owners of the Avio, Prestige and Kron with many new functions (The lates SMART EDIT version is already included in new Casablanca systems).

Here is a list of the most significant new features and improvements:

General:

• add-on products such as demo versions can be deleted from the hard-drive
• keyboard map and interface language can be set to separate language versions
• used projects are marked in the project list
• timer controlled record, unit can be made to power up and down at specified times
• time controlled record can be up to 3 hours long

• Photo-record mode now creates flicker-free pictures ****
• storyboard infos can be accessed from the edit menu (length, current position, rest length)
• scene information (date of recording,...) incl. small text filed for notes

• system now works DV-direct only, long waiting times are history - MPEG quality settings are not available any longer
• short signal irruptions no longer stop recording from recording DV
• supports hard-drives larger than 120 GB ***
• direct access to other projects using the clipboard ****
• supports "Progressive" format (25 full frames instead of 50 fields)
• many further, smaller changes and improvements

Storyboard:

• infos for the storyboard
• the complete storyboard can be deleted in one go, scenes in the scene bin remain
• scenes can be resorted directly in the storyboard (cut, copy, paste,...)*
• scenes in the storyboard can be trimmed IN the storyboard*
• picture-for-picture access to the entire storyboard and playback at any position

 

Inserts:

• the first and last part of the background scene can be deleted
• neighboring insert-scenes can be connected with a transition effect

 

Effects:

• the scene function is now instantaneous, meaning no waiting times ****
• created scenes can replace the original scene in the storyboard without much work-around ****
• single-frame preview now features a real-time display ****
• effect lists can be switched to separate product lists for a better overview
• the title editor provides for an easy font and style changes of a whole page

 

Audio:

• import of music from CD has been simplified**
• sound fades are easier to achieve and are more flexible

• display and setting of the audio peaks is possible during video record

• sound samples can be split manually according to beat
• rubber band (curve) for single samples

• timeline display has been expanded with more features
• a new audio effect "Surround" supports surround-sound (with a surround-audio-system)
• an audio effect can be added directly in the audio mix menu for single samples or an entire audio track
