The first Casablanca model makes use of a floppy disk drive with a capacity of roughly 1,6 MB. The drive serves the purpose of installing program software and effects.

With the advance in technology, Casablanca Avio, Prestige, Kron and Solitaire have been updated with a SmartMedia drive. The small memory cards (37x45x1mm) make use of 4-32 / 128 MB (with SMART EDIT) of data and are a lot faster (300 times) than floppy disks.

 

Additional programs can therefore be installed faster. In most cases, a single card will be required - even with larger software packages.
