PC-Link is a software allowing you to connect Casablanca with a computer to take advantage of both systems' possibilities.

The PC-Link package consists of:
- Software for Casablanca Avio, Prestige and Kron
The software can easily be installed on a SmartMedia card at your local dealer. Installation runs from the "Install product" menu.
- Software for your PC
The PC software is a Windows program with a graphical user-interface. This is you command center, where all commands are initialized.
- A connection cable
connects your Casablanca with the PC via USB interface, which is standard for Casablanca Avio, Prestige and Kron. The required cable is included with PC-Link.

PC-Link is compatible with PCs running Windows-98, -ME, -2000 or XP. A USB-port is required. Windows-95 and -NT are not supported due to the lack of USB drivers.

While transferring pictures, PC-Link automatically converts them to Casablanca's own format. If needed, they are additionally scaled.
You can choose between single pictures, picture-sequences, AVI files (incl. audio) or MPEG data: PC-Link converts them all and sends them to Casablanca, where you can use the pictures as you are used to from editing scenes.
Picture sequences can be read as a numbered sequence of pictures and transferred as single pictures, fields or frames (field-rendering). Each picture can be sent with an alpha-mask to determine a transparency value.
You can also let PC-Link transfer pictures automatically; e.g.: When saving pictures from a ray-tracing program.

When sending single pictures or entire scenes from Casablanca to the PC, PC-Link is limited to using picture formats capable of true color. Scenes area saved either as a numbered sequence of picture files, an AVI file or an MPEG-II data-stream on the PC.
PC-Link supports a large amount of different picture formats such as JPEG, TIFF, BMP, PCX, Kodak, WMF, PhotoShop, PNG, Targa, EPS, Macintosh Pict) and video formats such as MPEG and AVI.

This version fixes problems while the USB-cable is connected to Casablanca (mangled frames after recording, ...). Only the Casablanca part of the software has been changed, the PC software (Casablanca-Link v3.0) does not require an update. A connection PC<->Casablanca is only possible in the Casablanca screens "Edit" and "Audio Record / Edit".
