Q: I get a message saying "An unrecoverable problem occured...", the Avio / Prestige / Kron reboots automatically, and I get a warning that I should always shut down my device correctly. Is my device faulty?
A: Your device is not faulty. It is probably a software bug or a project-related problem. Your system should automatically start again and allow you to continue your work. Please contact our Technical Support to find out if there is a solution at hand.

Q: Rendering of audio and video effects is interrupted.
A: Make sure enough free capacity is available on your hard drive. All rendering requires free space on the hard drive.

Q: Where can I find the "Scene" function from Casablanca 1?
A: This function is not included in the basic Casablanca Avio package. The Casablanca Prestige and Kron feature this function as standard, and it is also included in the Avio pro-package.

Q: How do I superimpose several effects?
A: This is done using the "Special" function, allowing an Image Processing effect to be applied to a scene from the scene bin. This creates a new scene featuring this effect. The new scene can then be treated with further effects or given a title in the storyboard.

Q: I inserted a short commentary at the bottom of a long page and now I can't delete it, because I can't select it (it's too short to click on).
A: In front of the commentary in question, insert a long audio sample that is easy to select. Select it and use the ">" button (to the left of the play button under the storyboard) to move to the next audio sample (i.e. the short commentary in question) and use the delete button to remove it.

Q: I have many scenes in the scene bin and I want to organize them to get a better overview.
A: This can only be done using a trick. Scenes in the scene bin can be deleted and undeleted. To undelete, use the switch with the crooked arrow (next to the "Delete" button). When a scene is undeleted, it appears in the scene bin after the last item selected. Before undeleting, simply select the scene after which you wish the deleted scene to reappear.

Q: My hard drive is nearly full and I still want to record more material.
A: In the scene bin, all scenes used for a given film are marked with a small black dot. All unused scenes could be deleted from the scene bin. If uploaded raw footage is no longer needed for further processing, these scenes too (S 1, S 2, S 3... ) should be deleted, as they still contain scene elements that have been cut.

Q: Where do I find an effect to fade video scenes in and out?
A: For many users, the old fade in/out function (Casablanca 1) wasn't flexible enough, as the fades could only be done from or to black. In addition, the original soundtrack was not faded at the same time. To fade in a scene with Casablanca Avio and Kron, create a black scene (or an empty scene in any color), insert it before the scene you wish to fade in, and link the two scenes using the real-time transition effect "Crossfade". The longer the time you set for this effect, the smoother and slower the scene is faded in. The result can be previewed instantly without rendering.

Q: During video editing, I always hear a low humming noise. How can I avoid this?
A: This might have to do with the way in which the cables in your system are connected. You may have formed a so-called "ground loop" with your equipment, which occurs when several devices are connected to different ground lines. A ground loop is formed, for example, if there is ground contact via the Avio's power plug at the same time as a second ground connection via the television's aerial lead. In such cases, test for ground loops by briefly pulling out the aerial wire. If this stops the humming or interference, then you'll need a special current filter for your aerial lead. Such filter adapters are available from electronics supply stores - please ask there for help.

Q: How does the clipboard work? How can I copy scenes or audio sequences from one project to another?
A: Begin by selecting the scene you want to copy in the scene bin. In the "Edit" menu, click on "Special" and then "Clipboard". With the "Scene->Clipboard" command, you can then copy the scene in question to a temporary clipboard (like in computer operating systems). Under "Project Settings", switch to the project into which you wish to copy the scene. In the "Edit" menu, select "Special" and then "Clipboard", and click on the "Clipboard->Project" command. If you have copied more than one scene to the clipboard, you can now choose which scene is to be copied into the project. Once you confirm by pressing "OK", the copied scene will be listed in the Scene Archive, making a lasting copy of the data within the project. The clipboard itself is deleted when the device is switched off. The only condition for using the clipboard is that the project settings for the source and target projects match (image and sound quality, ...).

Q: I have a question that isn't answered here.
