04/2003 New York CBS Station Edits Racing Show on Casablanca Prestige

“No Speed Limit,” the top racing show in the Northeast, puts dirt and asphalt motorsports in the limelight each week on WBNG-TV in Binghamton, N.Y.  To achieve a high-octane look, producers use the super-charged, new, non-linear editor by Casablanca --- the Prestige.

“It’s the only way to make the most of compelling race video, broadcast quality in-car race cameras, animated graphics and special effects,” said Bill Rogers, producer.  “The Prestige has the horsepower to meet the demands of our show.”

Each week, editors pour over hours of tapes and interviews gathered by three reporters and three photographers shooting New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey race action that must be edited down for the half-hour show.  They use real-time transitions, and their high-tech edits include smooth slow-motion effects available through the Prestige effects program called Motion Perfect.  Rogers said Casablanca’s PIP studio (picture in picture) and special effects save the team bundles of time on pre-production.

“No Speed Limit” was selected as the best race show in the Northeast at a viewing by racers.  The editors give all the credit to their champion, the Prestige.
